The Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center offers trail rides, pony rides, private lessons, horsemanship camps, boarding, BBQ’s and other special events. The Equestrian Center’s wide variety of programs will meet the needs of most recreational horseback riders. Open from approximately mid-June to Labor Day.

Please note that we have new days and hours of operation. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays we are closed except for camps and boarding. We are open Thursday – Monday for trail rides, pony rides and private lessons. We are open Monday – Friday for Horsemanship Camps. Open daily for boarding.

Guided Trail Rides
Trail rides are guided scenic walking rides (maybe a little trotting) offered to riders at least seven years of age, 60 lbs. in weight (230 lb. maximum) and 4 feet in height. One and two-hour rides are available at set times. All rides are done on Western saddles. Reservations are required.

Our horsemanship camps have been going strong since 1992. Our week-long program teaches the fundamentals of riding skills, safety and horsemanship to children ages 8 – 16. Camps are half-day programs spanning Monday – Friday. Starting Monday, June 15 the camps are offered every week through August 24.

| Each camp is limited to four students and each student will have their own horse for the week. Students may ride either English or Western style. Camps are offered in three different levels; Levels 1 and 2 are for beginner to intermediate riders and Level 3 is for advanced riders. Please note that completing one level will not automatically qualify a student for the next level.Morning sessions run from 9 a.m. – noon and afternoon sessions from from 1 – 4 p.m. Cost: All Levels Members $375, Guests $400, Public $425 $25 discount on afternoon sessions |

| This camp is for beginners with little or no riding experience. Students will learn the basics of handling, grooming, tacking up, and riding at the walk and trot. Students may repeat Level 1 (or take additional private lessons) until they are ready for Level 2. |

| This camp is a continuation of Level 1 and is intended for beginner riders with some experience and confidence under their belts. To qualify for this level, students should be able to fully control their horse at the walk and be reasonably comfortable at the trot. This camp is the most popular and covers the widest range of riding abilities. Students may take Level 2 multiple times; in each session their instruction will be suited to their ability and confidence levels. |

Outside Paddock
12′ x 24′ partially covered pipe corral paddock; includes daily cleaning, watering and twice daily feeding of grass and/or alfalfa hay.

Outside paddock, includes daily watering and twice daily feeding of grass and/or alfalfa hay. Owner is responsible for the daily cleaning of their paddock.

Saturday Night BBQ
BBQ’s are offered on the following Saturday nights during the 2009 summer season: June 27, July 4, July 18, August 1, August 15, August 29 and September 5. Starting at 5 p.m. and ending at approximately 7:30 p.m. attendees will arrive for a fun evening of 15 minute horse-drawn wagon rides and a dinner of BBQ chicken, ribs, hot dogs, (veggie burgers available by request) corn on the cob, beans, slaw, corn bread, apple pie and s’mores. Afterwards the kids can compete in a treasure hunt for the Golden Horseshoe and the whole family can join in on the water balloon toss. For those who want to horseback ride as well a one-hour trail ride is offered at 4 p.m. for an additional fee to qualified riders. Reservations are required.

Pony Rides
Pony rides are for children ages 2 – 6 weighing 60 lbs. or less. After instruction, an adult or pony attendant leads the pony at a walk around our pony trail. Available Thursday – Monday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Reservations are required.
